Minister to Youth
The Reverend Camille Smith currently serves as the youth minister at Mt. Carmel AME Church in New Rochelle, NY. She is also the New York Conference Church School Superintendent; appointed from April of 2013 to the present. Rev. Smith is a graduate of Canisius College in Buffalo NY; she also holds a Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary and a Masters Degree in Mathematics Education from Cambridge College.
Rev. Camille Smith began her ministry as a young adult in the AME Church at Carter Community, serving as an Associate Minister, Children's Choir Director, YPD Director and eventually Minister to the Youth. In 2010, she transferred to First Hempstead AME Church as the Associate Minister, where she also served as the Church School Superintendent, and Advisor to the YPD. As the NY Conference Church School Superintendent, Rev. Smith continues to take on new responsibilities to encourage church school workers and assist them in further building their Church Schools.

She enjoys all aspects of ministry and has worked in many areas, yet she has a special place in her heart for young people serving God with their lives and is always supportive of them. Teaching is a major part of Rev. Smith's life and it is her goal to continue to share her knowledge and gain greater knowledge each day, as long as she lives. In addition to teaching in the Church, she teaches Mathematics on the Middle and High School Level with the NYC Department of Education and has done so for the past 16 years.
Rev. Smith continues to have a zeal to be in the presence of God daily. The Bible verse, "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (I Peter 5:7 NKJV) remains one of her favorites.
